Oxford Down sheep, bred at the Kronoborg LLC agricultural enterprise in the Lakhdenpokhsky District of Karelia, have again produced 70 lambs. This is a breed of sheep that is distinguished by its large size. Lambs at the age of 4.5 months reach a live weight of 40-45 kg, and adults can weigh from 130 to 140 kg by two years.

The Oxford Down breed was bred in 1830 by crossing Hampshire and Southdown ewes with Kostvold rams. This breed has not yet been registered in Russia, but it is in great demand due to its high-quality meat. The carcass of lambs at 4 months weighs approximately 20-25 kg. In addition, the breed is distinguished by high fertility, which is 150%.

Kronoborg LLC not only sells rams in Karelia, but also supplies to other regions of Russia, including Tatarstan . In addition to meat, the farm also supplies high-quality wool, which is in great demand due to its soft and long fiber.

For achieving high performance in the development of breeding and commercial livestock farming, Kronoborg LLC was awarded a gold medal at the All-Russian agro-industrial exhibition "Golden Autumn 2021". This is recognition of their work and efforts in breeding Oxford Down sheep.
