Belarus and Tatarstan have agreed to increase mutual agricultural exports through the Belarusian Export-Export Bank (BUCE).

January 20, Minsk . Belarus and Tatarstan intend to more actively utilize exchange trading mechanisms for mutual supplies of agricultural products. This issue was discussed during a visit to the central office of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov, the BUCE press service told BelTA.

This will create additional opportunities for realizing export potential and will contribute to strengthening business ties between Belarusian and Tatarstan agricultural enterprises. According to the Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, the exchange platform could become an effective tool for interaction between agricultural producers and consumers in Belarus and Tatarstan, creating favorable conditions for increasing trade turnover and helping to establish long-term trade relations.

"We are interested in deepening cooperation with Belarus in the exchange sector and are ready to assist in informing Tatarstan businesses about the capabilities of the Belarusian exchange platform. Judging by the volume of transactions concluded last year, exchange trading is a popular tool among Tatarstan's agricultural enterprises, meaning this area of ​​cooperation needs to be developed and scaled up," said Marat Zyabbarov.

According to BUCE data, in 2025 , Tatarstan companies purchased agricultural products worth a total of $44 million at exchange trading. Of this, 84% was skim and whole milk powder . According to agreements reached with the head of the Tatarstan delegation, further growth in exchange turnover is planned to be ensured not only by supplying Belarusian goods to Tatarstan but also by importing oilseed meal, sunflower oil, and grains to Belarus.

"The exchange mechanism can equally effectively address both procurement and sales needs of agricultural enterprises. Therefore, the exchange will serve as a convenient entry point for Tatarstan exporters to the Belarusian market, allowing them to work directly with the largest buyers of oil and fat products," emphasized Natalia Kishkel, Deputy Chair of the Board of BUCE, discussing the potential uses of exchange trading.

In 2025, 19 new Tatarstan businesses began using BUCE services, and 60 representatives from this region of Russia are currently accredited with the exchange. Products supplied from Belarus to Tatarstan included powdered milk and whey, butter , rennet cheeses and cottage cheese , and meat.and semi-finished meat products. Belarusian companies, in turn, purchased polyethylene film and components for industrial equipment from Tatarstan.

The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) was established in 2004. The first trades took place in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises in exporting their products and to help foreign companies enter the Belarusian market. The exchange trades a wide range of metal, timber, agricultural products , industrial, and consumer goods.
