A permit was obtained for the construction of the final section of a protective corridor in eastern Saxony along the Polish border. This means that the entire section from the border of Saxony with Brandenburg in the north to the border with the Czech Republic in the south is closed by a double fence. The fences run north of the federal highway A4 at intervals of ten kilometers and south of the federal highway A4 at intervals of two to nine kilometers. In total, about 2.5 million euros were spent on the construction. The length of the eastern fence of the corridor is about 63 kilometers, the length of the western fence is about 87 kilometers.

The area between the two fences is as free from wild boars as possible. The exact concept of protection corridor management is under development.

The protective corridor to the north, together with Brandenburg, is completely established, with the exception of the connection zone in the region of northern Saxony to the fences of Brandenburg. For the western protective corridor, the fencing is in the planning and pre-construction stages.
