In 2022, support for the industry will increase by a third, which will make it possible to plant about 100 hectares of new vineyards.
Spring work in the vineyards has started in the Rostov region. Now the Don viticulturists are starting to open plantings of covering grapes, pruning, tying bushes, tilling the soil and top dressing.
The members of the gubernatorial control group during their trip to the Tsimlyansky district were able to evaluate the start of field work in the vineyards of JSC Tsimlyansk Wines, as well as discuss the prospects for the development of the viticulture and winemaking industry.
“Recently, important steps have been taken in the country in the field of import substitution in agriculture - the government of the country approved a roadmap for the development of viticulture and winemaking in RUSSIA, and for our Don region, this is very important and timely,” said Viktor, First Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region Goncharov during an inspection visit to the vineyards of the Tsimlyansky and Konstantinovsky districts. - Viticulture and winemaking are special sectors in the economy of the Don region. Fulfilling the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the development of viticulture, in the Rostov Region we are now finalizing the regional program “Promoting the Development of Viticulture and Winemaking” and “The Concept for the Development of Viticulture and Winemaking in the Rostov Region until 2030”.
According to the Don Ministry of Agriculture and Food, 17 agricultural producers are most actively engaged in the cultivation of grapes in the Tsimlyansky, Martynovsky, Konstantinovsky, Azov and Ust-Donetsk regions. The area of vine plantations in agricultural enterprises and farms of the Rostov region in the fruiting age is 1.6 thousand hectares. In addition, systematic work is underway in the region to lay young vineyards. So, over the past five years, almost 344 hectares of new vine plantations have been planted, of which in 2021 - almost 70 hectares. 85% of the planted area last year was produced by the autochthonous grape variety Krasnostop Zolotovsky.
“The plan for laying vineyards for 2022 is about 100 hectares,” Viktor Goncharov said. “The federal and regional budgets allocate state support for the development of viticulture, which this year should exceed last year’s funding by more than 30% and amount to more than 64 million rubles.”
So , in 2021, state support for the development of viticulture from the federal budget exceeded 42 million rubles. In addition, almost 6 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget as subsidies for maintenance work in the vineyards of autochthonous varieties at fruiting age.
In 2022, federal funding has been increased to 50.2 million rubles, and the regional budget, in addition to subsidies for the development of autochthonous varieties, provides for a new type of support. This year, for agricultural producers of the region engaged in viticulture, the regional budget provides 8 million rubles to subsidize the purchase of agricultural machinery. The subsidy is 40% of the costs.
“Let me remind you that last year the gross grape harvest in farms and agricultural enterprises of the Don amounted to 5.3 thousand tons, which is almost 50% more than in 2020,” the first deputy governor emphasized. “Government support, the laying of new plantations should, over time, contribute to the growth of production indicators and, as a result, the development of Don winemaking.”
According to the Department of the Consumer Market of the Rostov Region, there are currently 14 licensed producers of wine products operating on the Don. The volume of production of wine products for 2021 amounted to 236.5 thousand decalitres or 3.4 million bottles. Despite the fact that there is a slight decrease due to a decrease in the production of wine drinks, for the “wine” group, the production volume indicators increased by 45% compared to the level of the previous year, including due to an increase in the production volumes of JSC “Tsimlyansk wines”.
During a visit to the vineyards and production departments of the Tsimlyansky plant, Viktor Goncharov noted that the management of the enterprise, which revived its activity almost two years ago, pays great attention to improving the quality of products, the technical condition of equipment and machinery, organizing the process of planting and caring for vineyards.
