Sverdlovsk schoolchildren got acquainted with agricultural professions

From June 27 to June 29, the Ural State Agrarian University held the Regional Agro-Engineering School for the children.
Its participants were 29 schoolchildren of grades 7-10 from Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region (Asbest, Irbit, Nevyansk and Karpinsk). All of them are passionate about biology, chemistry and physics and show interest in the agricultural industry.
Within three days, the guys got acquainted with different agricultural professions. We visited the classrooms and laboratories of USAU, visited the educational and experimental farm of the university and the Animal Rehabilitation Center, the main purpose of which is the treatment and socialization of homeless animals.
All participants of the agroengineering school tried themselves as a food technologist, agronomist, veterinarian and engineer. Schoolchildren studied the soil, learned how to make cheese, sausages, operate agricultural machinery, understood the intricacies of robotic systems in the agro-industrial complex and got acquainted with various animals and birds.
In addition, the guys took part in quizzes and quests. For example, together with the employees of the Museum of the History of the Ural State Agrarian University, they found Khariton's Gold.
“We hope that the knowledge gained will serve as a starting point for you to create new projects and implement the most daring ideas. Participate in our career guidance events as often as possible, create your own scientific research together with us, and remember that we are always open to cooperation,” said Marina Sergeevna Andryushechkina, DIRECTOR of the USAU Center for Professional Development of Youth, in her address to schoolchildren.
it is worth noting that the Ural Agrarian University has been holding the Regional Agroengineering School with the support of the Youth Palace in Yekaterinburg since 2019 twice a year. The purpose of the project is to create conditions for creative self-realization of students through the mastery of modern research, design technologies in the field of ecological, biological and agroengineering.
