The sowing campaign of 2022, thanks to the increased technical equipment of agriculture, was carried out in the region at the optimum time. Agrarians increased their sown areas and introduced record volumes of fertilizers.
Yevgeny Leshchenko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region, spoke about the results of spring sowing during a press conference.
“During the 2022 sowing season, the area of spring sowing in the Novosibirsk Region was increased by 108,000 hectares compared to last year. As a result, the total sown area increased by 84 thousand hectares - up to 2 million 390 thousand hectares. This is a much larger increase than planned,” the minister said.
Thus, the plan for spring sowing was fulfilled in the region by 101.6%, in some areas, such as Kochkovsky and Kyshtovsky, the overfulfillment of the plan reached 120%. The largest increase in sown areas compared to the level of 2021 was recorded in Chanovsky (+21 thousand hectares), Kochenevsky (+16 thousand hectares), as well as Dovolensky, Krasnozersky and Cherepanovsky - 9 thousand hectares each, districts. The main increase was provided by putting unused land into circulation.
Spring grain and leguminous crops are located on an area of 1 million 470.6 thousand hectares, which is 41 thousand more than in 2021.
Industrial crops were sown on 354 thousand hectares - 100 thousand hectares more than a year earlier. The fastest growing areas in this high-margin sector of crop production are rapeseed: 150.4 thousand hectares (+48 thousand hectares by 2021) and curly flax: 142 thousand hectares (+34 thousand hectares).
A distinctive feature of the 2022 sowing campaign, Yevgeny Leshchenko called the high level of preparation for spring field work, noting that farmers began to prepare for the future sowing campaign in the fall. “These are the volumes of plowing, and the filling of high-quality seed material, and the timely troubleshooting of equipment, which allowed our farmers to purchase spare parts and consumables in advance - back in the past year and early this year, and prepare all equipment for spring sowing, including including foreign production,” said Evgeny Leshchenko.
Due to the high level of equipment readiness and the active replenishment of the tractor fleet with new high-performance agricultural machines, spring sowing was carried out in the region at the optimum time. Daily output for a number of days exceeded the record 100 thousand hectares per day.
“Despite the economic situation, the process of technical re-equipment of agricultural production has not stopped and has not even slowed down. As of today, agricultural enterprises of the region have purchased 1,220 units of machinery and equipment for the amount of 5.5 billion rubles, which is 1.6 billion rubles more than a year earlier,” said Evgeny Leshchenko.
One of the incentives for the acquisition of new equipment by the region's farms is the measures of regional state support in force in the Novosibirsk region. More than 1.7 billion rubles from the regional budget were allocated to reimburse farmers for the renewal of the technical park in 2022. In total, since the beginning of the year, over 2.8 billion rubles of state support from the regional and federal budgets have been transferred to agricultural producers - almost twice as much as in the same period in previous years.
