Doctors allowed the transformation of COVID-19 into a seasonal disease

CORONAVIRUS infection will eventually become a seasonal disease, just like the flu. This opinion was expressed in a conversation with RBC by an infectious disease specialist, DOCTOR of Medical Sciences Nikolai Malyshev.

He believes that covid-19 will mostly get sick in autumn and winter, and the disease will be easier, with less mortality.

“How long has the flu been with us? Yes, measles and smallpox can be said to have been defeated by vaccination, but there are still occasional outbreaks of measles. And SARS-CoV-2 is a rather volatile virus, reminiscent of the flu. Remember the H1N1 swine flu situation? At first, there was a rapid rise in the incidence, a severe course, then the disease became seasonal, ”Malyshev explained.
