Demand for PCR tests has grown significantly in Perm medical laboratories

In medical laboratories in Perm, the demand for PCR tests for covid-19 has increased by 1.5-2 times. RBC Perm was told about this by market participants.

Doctors attribute a noticeable increase in demand for PCR tests to the opening of new directions for international air travel and a surge in the incidence of CORONAVIRUS. The total number of requested tests for Covid-19 has increased by 1.5-2 times since the beginning of this year, but the level of 2020, according to experts, has not yet been reached. In addition, the number of people wishing to be vaccinated has significantly increased.

“In the last week, there has been a significant increase in people who want to be vaccinated against a new coronavirus infection. it really is. It is understandable, probably, with what it is connected. First, people go on vacation. Many countries put surcharges if a person is not vaccinated. And secondly, I believe that the people are doing the right thing, that they are going to be vaccinated in conditions of increased incidence of Covid-19, ”Natalya Pronyushkina, deputy chief physician of the Philosophy of Beauty and HEALTH Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory, shared.

The number of those wishing to be vaccinated "on the road" has also increased by 1.5-2 times, the Ministry of Health of the Perm Territory notes. If last week, on average, 40-50 people came to each of the points for vaccination per shift, then in the first three days of this week, the number of residents who came for immunization reached 80-100.

According to the press service of the regional government, on June 23, the absolute record for vaccination was set by a mobile station on wheels, which stood near the circus - 132 people came here. This was also facilitated by the decision of the administration of the Perm circus to give everyone who gets vaccinated a certificate to attend a circus performance, which can be exchanged for a ticket throughout the year.

Earlier, RBC Perm reported that a new outbreak is associated with the emergence of new strains of coronavirus. It is highly likely that this is a delta strain. It is characterized by the fact that it is 2 times more contagious than the previous one. In addition, there is preliminary evidence that it can lead to hospitalization 1.5-2 times more often.

“If we multiply one by the other, then we can understand that the situation will develop faster than in autumn. At the peak that was in the fall, we will not stop. Therefore, we cannot do without restrictions. Vaccination specifically for this outbreak will not help us. In order for this to end, it is extremely urgent to get vaccinated, but since they will really seriously affect immunity only about 42 days after vaccination, we will no longer have time to affect the growth that we have now. Therefore, we cannot do without restrictions. What they will be depends on the operational headquarters,” said Dmitry Zhebelev.
