The State Duma will increase the number of committees

The structure of the committees of the State Duma of the eighth convocation will be as close as possible to the structure of federal executive bodies, and their total number will be increased. This was stated by the HEAD of the temporary deputy working group for the preparation of the first meeting of the State Duma of the new convocation Alexander Zhukov, TASS reports.

“Today we discussed the list of committees of the State Duma. it is proposed to create 32 committees,” he said.

According to him, the increase in the number of committees is due to the fact that, at the initiative of the temporary working group, "it is proposed to bring the structure of committees as close as possible to the structure of federal executive bodies."

“It is also proposed to create a commission on the regulations and organization of the work of the State Duma, which will resolve relevant issues,” Zhukov said. He specified that the list of committees would be sent to the factions of the State Duma so that they could decide on their candidates for committees and leadership positions.
