10 September, Svisloch District. A modern dairy farm for 777 heads of dairy cattle is being built in the Svisloch District; commissioning is scheduled for 2026, BelTA has learned.
The new facility is being built at JSC Akr-Agro on the territory where a pig farm was previously located, which was closed several years ago. Some of the buildings are being reconstructed, while others, which were unsuitable for use in modern conditions, were demolished. New buildings are already being built on this site.
"In total, the livestock facility under construction is designed to accommodate over 2,000 heads
of cattle ," said Yevgeny Dudak,
HEAD of the farm. "In addition to cowsheds, there will be a
HEALTH center for calves and buildings for the reproduction of heifers. After the work is completed, we will transport animals from the farm's existing farm here, and at the same time we will work to increase the livestock. We will completely transfer the cattle to loose housing."
Today, the farm has 1,475 heads of dairy cattle, the chairman noted. With the opening of the new farm, they plan to increase
it to 2-2.1 thousand heads. Last year, they milked over 8.5 thousand kg of
MILK per cow, this year they aim to cross the 9 thousand kg mark.
"The new farm will employ 25-27 people, and they plan to receive 25 tons of milk per day," the
DIRECTOR explained. "Increasing the number of livestock will require more feed, but we can handle it. In recent years, the machinery and tractor fleet has been updated by 80%. The salaries of workers are also growing: over the past three years, they have increased 2.5 times."
"Three years ago, around 38% of the main dairy herd was kept on tethered farms. These are outdated technologies, conditions in which it is difficult for people to work. Considering that we have already introduced three farms, and are currently reconstructing this farm, we plan to completely transfer livestock farming to modern dairy complexes in the next three years. By 2030, we plan to build seven more dairy farms," said Andrei Gritskevich, Chairman of the Svisloch District Executive Committee. Photo by Leonid Shcheglov
