A pensioner was hit by a high-speed train in the Buda-Koshelevsky district

September 9, Gomel. A pensioner from Gomel was hit by a high-speed electric train in the Buda-Koshelevo District, Senior Assistant to the Prosecutor of the Gomel Region for Supervision of Legislation Compliance in Transport and Customs Authorities Sergei Kazakevich told BELTA.
The tragedy on the railway occurred in the afternoon of September 7. At about 2:00 p.m., a Gomel resident born in 1949 was fatally injured by interregional business class train No. 710 MINSK - Gomel at the 234th km of the Buda-Koshelevo - Uza section. The pensioner was crossing the railway tracks at a road crossing near the Cheretok stop.
"The woman was crossing the tracks with two large bags, she was practically running. However, she did not respond to the loud horns given by the driver. Perhaps she hoped to slip in front of the approaching train. Despite the emergency braking, it was not possible to prevent the collision. The elderly woman died on the spot," said Sergei Kazakevich.
The prosecutor's office once again warns about the need to comply with the rules of conduct at railway facilities: "It is prohibited to appear at railway stations, stations and on trains in a state ofALCOHOL intoxication . Do not leave young children unattended in these places, do not be distracted by using a mobile phone. While waiting for a train to arrive or seeing a train off, do not use headphones when crossing railroad tracks. It is prohibited to cross railroad tracks under cars, as well as when there are prohibiting signals or in a place not designated for this. It is unsafe to stand at the edge of a passenger platform. Do not cling to the handrails of cars of a moving train. When waiting at a pedestrian crossing for a train to pass, do not rush to cross it, make sure that there is no other train moving along the crossed track or along the adjacent track. Following these simple rules will help preserve the life and HEALTH of you and your loved ones."
