September 15, Grodno. The Grodno and Penza regions intend to develop cooperation. This plan was announced at a meeting of the regional leaders of Belarus and
RUSSIA in the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, BelTA reports.
As noted by Yuri Karayev, Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, the Penza Region is not a new region for cooperation. "We already have cooperation with
it. But, as both sides noted, it is still insufficient," the
HEAD of the Grodno Region said, adding that there is room for improvement.
According to Yuri Karayev, both regions are developing almost the same areas. "They are highly technological agricultural and industrial sectors, and there are many advances in medicine. Sharing experiences is also important," the chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee added.
The Grodno Region supplies the Penza Region with
food products (
cheeses , natural
butter ,
MILK , and cream), wood products, glassware, and plastics. The
Penza Region supplies flaxseed,
paper ,
cardboard , wood products, food industry
products , and mechanical engineering products to Prinemanye. Grodno Region is interested in closer industrial cooperation with the Penza Region.
"In agriculture and the agro-industrial complex, to improve crop cultivation efficiency, we are ready to supply nitrogen fertilizers to the Russian market," stated Yuri Karaev, adding that the region is also interested in
importing rapeseed, soybeans, and sunflower seeds. It was noted that, in terms of improving the efficiency of the livestock sector, Grodno enterprises have the opportunity to supply protein and vitamin supplements and premixes for animal feed, particularly for turkey farming. "Manufacturers of agricultural machinery, machinery, and equipment are offering a separate area of cooperation," noted the Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee. "We can also collaborate in the construction sector, as our companies produce a wide range of building materials and reinforced concrete products."
"Business, industrial, and agricultural circles will find connections among themselves; they don't really need governors for that. But when it's supported and overseen by regional leaders, it's even better," emphasized Yuri Karaev.
As Penza Region Vice Governor Sergei Fedotov noted, in
2024A cooperation agreement with the Grodno region was signed last year. "We've come to flesh out this agreement. We've structured our program to include visits not only to industrial enterprises, but also to social ones. We've already visited a dairy plant, and we'll be visiting School No. 38 in Grodno, as well as a
SUGAR factory. We're one of the leaders in sugar production. We have three sugar factories in the Penza region and a large confectionery cluster," he said.
"We'll also visit your cardiology center. We're leaders in pacemaker production. A great deal of
work is currently underway to introduce these pacemakers to the Belarusian market. There's a lot of
work , and cooperation has already been established. We've proposed an exchange of delegations. The Penza region has a federal cardiology center staffed by highly qualified specialists, so we're always happy to collaborate," added Sergei Fedotov.
As was mentioned at the meeting, significant potential for developing cooperation also lies in the humanitarian sphere: education, military-patriotic education, tourism, youth policy, and culture.
