Cattle are dying en masse in some villages of North Kazakhstan region.
Animal breeders suffer losses. However, experts note that 2021 in terms of veterinary medicine came out much calmer than 2020. According to official data, a decrease in registered unfavorable points for especially dangerous animal diseases is recorded in the North Kazakhstan region today, inbusiness.kz reports. So, in 2020, 65 of them were identified, and in 2021, only 19.
Despite the fact that brucellosis periodically reminds of itself, cattle in the North Kazakhstan region have become ill with it almost half as much as a year ago - 418 against 955 cases for the same period of 2020. And if then there were 13 unfavorable points for the disease, then at the moment there are only 6 of them.
''Infection with brucellosis in cattle in the region is 0.09%, in the Republic of Kazakhstan - 0.33%, in neighboring regions: Kostanay - 0.34%, Akmola - 0.27%, Pavlodar - 0.48%'', - noted in the information from the Department of Veterinary SKO.
True, this year did not go without anthrax. The disease was detected in the Akzhar district of the North Kazakhstan region in one of the local farms. But everything ended relatively well - the focus was localized, not allowing the infection to spread. The ulcer did not have time to cause significant damage to the business. Meanwhile, the HEAD of the farm still received a fine of 146 thousand tenge for violating the requirements for slaughtering farm animals.
Despite the fact that bird flu is rampant in neighboring RUSSIA, veterinarians have so far registered only one unfavorable point in North Kazakhstan region - the village of Lebyazhye in the area of Magzhan Zhumabaev. There, 2.1 thousand domestic birds were seized and destroyed from people.
In 2020, of course, the numbers were much worse. Then more than 1 million birds died, the work of most large poultry farms stopped. This prompted both ordinary peasants and business representatives to pay more attention to vaccination issues. By the fall of 2021, more than 977 thousand heads of poultry have been vaccinated.
At the same time, despite the decrease in detection of the main diseases dangerous for livestock and poultry, this year the number of suspicions of rabies has increased. Of the 35 cases, the diagnosis was confirmed in 11. The source is wild animals such as foxes, corsacs and raccoon dogs.
Recycle yourself
For three months now, in the village of Mortuk, Ualikhanov district, North Kazakhstan region, veterinarians have not been able to stop the loss of livestock.
The livestock breeders of this village purchased cattle under the state program "Sybaga". But the loss of livestock began, which is dying due to an unknown disease, and entrepreneurs continue to pay a loan for the already non-existent heads of cattle. This is a serious business loss.
It was assumed that the cattle were infected with Emkar disease. But the tests, according to the veterinarians of the Ualikhanovskiy district, did not confirm this diagnosis.
Veterinarians, according to livestock breeders, after removing the material for analysis, leave the dead animals in the barn, recommending that they dispose of the corpses on their own.
Complete sloppiness
Judging by the decrease in the number of sick animals, vaccination is bearing fruit. Yes, and nature itself, apparently, decided to take pity on the villagers and farmers, already battered by the drought. While people, or rather, responsible officials on the ground, fail the work of veterinary medicine. We are talking about the construction of animal burial grounds. Only 8 of them were built this year, which is only 30.7% of the plan. It should be 26. At a recent meeting in the regional akimat, the head of the region, Kumar Aksakalov, called the current situation complete sloppiness.
''Last year, these issues were raised. This year, we see that the akimats are doing this work very poorly. There are akimats that have completed 100% of what was planned, and some have failed this work. That's why I think it should be punished. Funds were allocated, but they could not do it - this is the result of complete sloppiness,'' Akim of North Kazakhstan region criticized his subordinates.
