His/her tasks include developing and implementing programs to increase agricultural productivity, ensuring food security, supporting rural residents and farmers, and promoting environmental sustainability of the agricultural sector. The Minister of Agriculture should have knowledge of agriculture, economics, ecology and law, be a strategist and a leader capable of making important decisions for rural development and ensuring sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
