More than 7 million tons of grain from the new harvest have been collected on the Don

The harvesting campaign continues in the Rostov region. Farms in the region have harvested more than 2.1 million hectares, which is almost 67% of the total harvested area.
“The Don harvest has already passed the 7 million mark with an average yield of almost 34 c/ha,” said the Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region –Minister of Agriculture and Food Konstantin Rachalovsky. – To be precise, today 7 million 350 thousand tons of grain have been harvested, of which more than 6.7 million is winter wheat. I would like to note that in a number of southern and eastern districts of the region, 90% of the fields have already been harvested, and one of the districts has already reported that the harvest season is completely over. However, in the north there are areas where less than 40% of the area has been harvested to date. it is still necessary to avoid agricultural fires, especially given the high temperatures that characterize the fire season.”
According to operational data from the Don Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Yegorlyk region has completed the harvest of early grain and leguminous crops, having collected 285 thousand tons from an area of ​​67.2 thousand hectares with an average yield of 42.4 c/ha. More than 90% of the area has already been threshed in the Oktyabrsky, Myasnikovsky and Azov districts.
“Some enterprises, despite difficult weather conditions this year, were able to achieve high yields,” emphasized Konstantin Rachalovsky. - So, the grain growers of the collective farm named after S.G. Shaumyan, Myasnikovsky district, with more than 5.5 thousand hectares, collected 31.8 thousand tons of grain with an average yield of 57.5 c/ha. We ended the harvest traditionally with a parade of combine harvesters.”
Let us remind you that in general this year, farmers of the Rostov region will have to harvest about 3 million 250 thousand hectares of early grain and leguminous crops.
