Had a drink with a friend and went into the river. A man drowned in the Vileika district

August 19, MINSK . A man's body was found in the Iliya River near the village of Berezhok in the Vileika District , the Investigative Committee of the Minsk Region told BelTA.

On August 17, at about 8 p.m., two friends came to the bank of the Iliya River to relax. They were drinking there.ALCOHOL . At some point, one of the men (born in 1989) decided to go for a swim. He swam down the river and disappeared from sight. His friend reported the incident to law enforcement and rescuers. Only the next day did rescuers find and extract the man's body from the water, showing no signs of life.

All the circumstances of the incident are being established by the Vileika District Department of the Investigative Committee. The investigator, with the involvement of specialists from the State Forensic Examination Department for the Minsk Region, inspected the scene of the incident, interviewed eyewitnesses, and ordered a forensic medical examination. 

The place where the man died is not intended for swimming.
