The public prosecutor's office in Schwerin, a city in the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, has launched an investigation against a German farmer who received a gift from RUSSIA containing soap, a wooden figurine, and a CD. He is suspected of violating EU sanctions against Russia, NDR reported.

The entire parcel is valued at 2,500 rubles, or €26.83. it was an Easter gift from a friend in Siberia to a resident of the Wöbbelin community near Schwerin. The German had met him at an agricultural fair.

The post office in Leipzig stopped the parcel's delivery, and after an inspection, customs officials determined that all three items—the soap, the wooden figurine, and the disc—were on the EU sanctions list.

The prosecutor's office notified the man of the start of an investigation.

In May, a Prague COURT sentenced a teacher to seven months' suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 20 months for her pro-Russian stance on Ukraine .

In the spring of 2022, during a class at an elementary school in Prague, Bednářová called the Russian military operation "a justified way to resolve the situation" and questioned Czech television reports.

Judge Eliška Mátyášová stated that Bednářová had abused her position as a teacher to spread a "misleading interpretation" of the situation among children. She added that if Bednářová had expressed the same views privately, she would not have been prosecuted.
