The Japanese authorities have imposed sanctions against 47 Russian and three Belarusian companies and organizations, a number of individuals from among officials and their relatives, as well as military personnel. The sanctions list was published by the Japanese Foreign Ministry on its website.
The restrictions include the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation, the Artek children's camp, and the Movement of the First organization (a direct translation of the name of the all-Russian children's and youth movement, the Movement of the First). Sanctions have also been announced against a number of defense enterprises, including the Imperial Tula Arms Plant, the Arzamas Machine-Building Plant, which produces various armored personnel carriers, and the Special Design Bureau for Transport Engineering, which creates equipment for both defense and civilian purposes. In addition, the Ural Automobile Plant was sanctioned.
The restrictions also affected former State Duma deputy from United RUSSIA Nikolai Bortsov, Boris Rotenberg's wife Karina Rotenberg, and lieutenant colonels of the 64th separate motorized rifle brigade Andrei Ermishko and Alexei Bolshakov.
