7 August,
MINSK . Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Republic of Cuba Vitaly Borchuk told the TV channel "" how
Belarus is developing cooperation with Cuba, BELTA reports. According to him, one of the main areas of cooperation with Cuba is food security and food supplies. "Half of the
EXPORT is skimmed whole
MILK powder . Our products are known and appreciated. In terms of price-quality ratio, we currently occupy a very good niche and will continue to develop
it. We are also developing cooperation in the pharmaceutical field. Moreover, it is mutual, bilateral. A number of joint projects have been created, enterprises are developing. Belarus purchases the best Cuban drugs. The Cuban side has registered more than 50 drugs, and we are preparing a number of contracts for execution. It is also planned to cooperate in order to develop the mechanical engineering industry of Cuba and increase the level of equipment of the country with basic components, spare parts for repair enterprises. We are entering this market not only with the product, but also with the technology," Vitaly Borchuk emphasized.
The ambassador noted that at the end of April, Cuba hosted the international exhibition and fair "Health for All", where Belarus was widely represented by enterprises of the holding "Belpharmprom", "Akademfarm" of the National Academy of Sciences. "Close cooperation between regulatory and certification authorities has been established. In the twenties of July, I had the honor of being present at the first package of a new joint drug in Cuba, which is fully certified and mastered. Today, it is recognized in the country, and this makes it possible to work with it on the domestic market of Cuba. It also has the potential for deliveries to countries and regions that recognize the Cuban certificate. As soon as we receive long-term contracts, the drug will be launched into production," he shared his plans.
Together with the Cuban side, tractor assembly has been organized in the Holguin region. The first batch was assembled at the end of last year, the second - at the beginning of this year. "A large batch of tractor kits is also expected to be delivered to Cuba. The country really likes it. These are new jobs, the prospect of gradual localization. In addition, Bobruiskagromash and AMKODOR are considering the possibility and are conducting direct negotiations on organizing equipment assembly plants in Cuba," said Vitaly Borchuk.
"There was a time when we supplied a lot of passenger equipment. Now we are developing a competitive proposal for the purchase of cargo and dump trucks: container trucks, water carriers," he added.
The Ambassador noted that Cuba's mining industry is actively developing. "This country is one of the world leaders in nickel mining. We held a number of meetings and negotiations, and representatives of OJSC BELAZ - the management company of the BELAZ-HOLDING holding visited Cuba. At one time, they supplied products to Cuba. Unfortunately, we lost this market 15 years ago. Recovery is always a more painful process, but we have already taken the first steps and will now continue to actively develop this topic on new and more flexible terms. We will offer various options for cooperation: outsourcing, leasing supply schemes, and the creation of, possibly, joint ventures," noted Vitaly Borchuk. "Belarus has preliminarily agreed with Cuban partners to negotiate the possibility of joint development of new nickel deposits with friendly countries. For them, our transportation technologies, equipment, and the formation of service repair bases with the possibility of manufacturing various units and assemblies on site will be organized."
