A commitment to expanding Belarusian-Indonesian cooperation in the agricultural sector was confirmed at a meeting in Jakarta between Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov and Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, BelTA reports, citing the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Food security is currently a key issue for Indonesia. Therefore, cooperation with Belarus on the supply of agricultural machinery, fertilizers, and food products to Indonesia was deemed extremely important.
Belarus is ready not only to supply food products ( meat , milk , and poultry), but also to provide its Indonesian partners with technology and full support for projects in Indonesia aimed at strengthening the country's food security.
Maxim Ryzhenkov held a detailed discussion with Indonesian Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Suleiman, confirming a number of promising areas of cooperation.
Maxim Ryzhenkov invited Andi Amran Suleiman to visit Belarus at any convenient time. He also proposed using key international events, particularly the Belagro-2026 international exhibition.
The parties agreed to thoroughly study and organize further work on the supply of agricultural products in demand in the Belarusian and Indonesian markets.
Maxim Ryzhenkov will visit Jakarta, Indonesia, on August 5 and 6. This is the first official visit by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry since the opening of the Belarusian Embassy in Jakarta in 2012.
