The Rostov Region's agro-industrial complex's investment portfolio currently includes 35 projects with a total investment volume of approximately 183 billion rubles.
This was announced by the Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region.Minister of Agriculture and Food Konstantin Rachalovsky during a working visit to the Neklinovsky District, during which representatives of the Don Ministry of Agriculture and Food visited several enterprises implementing investment projects.
One of the sites was the Yuzhny greenhouse complex, where production is being modernized. The complex covers 30 hectares, more than half of which—16 hectares—are greenhouses. Since 2022, an investment project has been underway to install an assimilation lighting system on a 13.6-hectare site.
"We are currently working on an investment project to build a large energy center to generate energy for the greenhouses," said Roman Samorukov, DIRECTOR of a separate division of Yuzhny Agrokombinat JSC. "Initially, supplementary lighting was designed only for the area where seedlings were grown. However, to increase yields and operate year-round during the dark periods of November, December, and January, sufficiently intense supplemental lighting is required. Therefore, our founder decided to build a new power plant to increase production and, consequently, improve the technological efficiency of the entire production process."
The project is financed through equity and borrowed capital. it is worth noting that the company received an investment loan of 2.2 billion rubles to complete the modernization under the preferential lending mechanism of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. The
total investment volume amounts to 3.7 billion rubles.
The social impact of the project will be the creation of 240 new jobs in rural areas.
"Investment is an indicator of the HEALTH of the industry; the dynamics of the investment index can be used to judge the business activity of enterprises," emphasized Konstantin Rachalovsky. "Last year, the investment portfolio of the region's agro-industrial complex was replenished with new projects, and this year, investment activity continues to grow. For example, a similar greenhouse complex is planned for construction in the Aksaysky District. Currently, 24 projects worth 104.3 billion rubles are underway, and the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food is overseeing 35 investment projects totaling 182.8 billion rubles. A number of such large-scale projects demonstrates the high level of investment activity in the region today.
