The project complemented the State Program for the Development of Agriculture of the Republic. The corresponding resolution was developed by the Ministry of Agriculture of Chuvashia and signed by the Head of the region Oleg Nikolaev.
“The regional project for the development of hop growing will consolidate our strategy for the development of the industry and will be synchronized with the goals of the Individual Program for the Social and Economic Development of the Republic,” notes the Deputy Prime Minister,Minister of Agriculture of Chuvashia Sergei Artamonov.
With the help of significant government support, it is expected that the area of ​​hop plantings at fruiting age will increase to 2000 hectares by 2035, the gross harvest will be 3.7 thousand tons. To ensure such volumes, the technical modernization of the industry will be required - this means 133 tractors, 100 combines, 50 hop dryers and another hundred units of other specialized machinery and equipment.
The Center of Competence in Hop Growing operating on the basis of the Chuvash State Agrarian University is also tasked with the creation of new varieties of bittering, aromatic and craft varieties for the conditions of the Volga-Vyatka region and the introduction of 8 varieties of hops of foreign selection.
Earlier, the President of the country Vladimir Putin instructed to extend the individual program of Chuvashia for 2025-2030, providing for measures to stimulate hop growing in the republic. It is planned to allocate 1.7 billion rubles to agricultural production and science in the industry.
