In Poland, food prices have more than doubled during Duda's presidency.

August 5, MINSK . Food prices in Poland have more than doubled during Andrzej Duda's presidency, according to the newspaper Fakt.

A journalist from the publication compared the cost of a grocery basket purchased 10 years ago, in March 2015, by then-presidential candidate Duda, with the current cost of the same products. The results, the publication notes, were quite unexpected.

In March 2015, Duda visited a Warsaw grocery store and purchased a basket of nine products: sunflower oil , orange juice, bread, MILK , eggs , SUGAR , margarine, Gouda cheese, and a chocolate egg with a "surprise." The total cost of the basket was 37 zlotys and 2 groszy (approximately $10). A photograph of the politician with this basket was published in the newspaper at the time.

In early August, the journalist returned to the same Warsaw store and purchased the same basket. it now costs him 85 zlotys and 48 groszy (approximately $23.10). Thus, the publication concludes, the cost of the presidential shopping basket has more than doubled (by approximately 130%). The biggest price increases over these years have been for eggs, cheese, and milk.

In 2015, Andrzej Duda won the presidential election, replacing the then-incumbent HEAD of state, Bronisław Komorowski. His term expires on August 6, following the inauguration of President-elect Karol Nawrocki.
