MINSK .
Minister of Agriculture and Food Anatoly Linevich, with the participation of the
HEAD of state, reported on the progress of the harvesting campaign, its first results and problematic issues, BELTA correspondent reports.
Winter barley is a capricious crop, but ours. According to the minister, this year the harvested area of grain and leguminous crops is 2.1 million hectares. This is 68 thousand hectares more than last year. Corn crops reached 300 thousand hectares.
"Winter barley has been harvested. Conclusion?" - asked the President.
“The crop is ours. We harvested 800 thousand tons, the yield is above 30 centners (per hectare. - BELTA note). Therefore, this year we are not reducing the acreage," reported Anatoly Linevich.
“We are saying that we expected more from winter barley,” noted
ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO .
As the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food explained, the wintering conditions did not allow achieving a better result. In addition, technological shortcomings were made during the care of crops.
“So, there is only one conclusion: winter barley is a capricious crop in conditions of risky farming, i.e. in Belarus. Therefore, you need to carefully select fields.
it does not tolerate frost very well and will rot if there is a lot of snow. Therefore, choose the right fields. You need to cultivate barley “so that the harvest is not lower than 40 centners,” the head of state concluded.
As the President was informed, on some farms the yield of winter barley even exceeds 100 c/ha. “We chose the right fields, normal predecessors and technologies,” commented Alexander Lukashenko.
“Rapeseed is a profitable crop.” “Rapeseed has begun to be harvested. What is rapeseed showing this year? What percentage was harvested?” - the President clarified. According to Anatoly Linevich, 75% of the rapeseed area has been harvested, the average yield is 26 c/ha. “It is necessary to deal with rapeseed. Mainly winter rapeseed. In the northern regions, spring rapeseed also needs to be dealt with, because overwintering conditions have shown that where there is no snow cover, rapeseed overwintered very poorly,” the minister noted. “Rapeseed is a profitable crop. It brings in money, like
MILK in livestock farming. We need to work on it. But, as with other crops, we need to work on it thoroughly. Here is the main conclusion: there will be rapeseed, but we need to cultivate it as much as we can harvest and process normally.” , the head of state emphasized. At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that even within the Vitebsk region, rapeseed yields can vary dramatically. Alexander Lukashenko asked the question: why do some people succeed and others don’t? “They’re not doing enough,” suggested Anatoly Linevich. “So make them work! If you don’t, tell me.Kubrakov and I (Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan
Kubrakov
. - Approx. BELTA) tomorrow we will force the dead to work,” the President figuratively put it.
At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food drew attention to the weather factor: in one of the farms, winter rapeseed was sown on time and in compliance with technology, but several days of frost - and 95% of the crops died.
" What does “there are not enough machine operators” mean?” Separately, Alexander Lukashenko touched upon the situation on the ground, paying special attention to the staffing of farms and the readiness of equipment. “If Subbotin and Linevich complain that they do not have enough machine operators and equipment, they should be removed from their positions both , - demanded the President. - What does “there are not enough machine operators” mean? Find them in cities. Agree with the heads of the enterprises." As Anatoly Linevich said, for technical reasons, about fifty combines are idle throughout the country. Some of them are imported, which means there are problems with the supply of spare parts. But these issues, according to the minister, have already been practically resolved. However, the head of state did not accept these explanations: “Why didn’t we purchase the necessary components in winter? It's nonsense that you can't buy spare parts for imported combine harvesters." "There should be no delays in government orders." "What else is missing?" asked Alexander Lukashenko. "Br130 million must be allocated to buy food grain from peasants," the minister said. " Minister of Finance, there should be no delays in state orders," the President set the task. The head of state emphasized: at the republican level, all issues in order to carry out the harvesting campaign efficiently have been resolved. And better than in previous times. "Therefore, we need to strain ourselves, organize the work and clean up. Discipline must be harsh. I’m ashamed to even talk about some kind of theft and so on,” summed up Alexander Lukashenko.
