6.6 ppm of alcohol was detected in the blood of a man found dead in the forest of the Pruzhany region

December 12, Brest. Forensic experts have established the cause of death of a resident of the Pruzhany district, who was found in the forest without signs of life, Tatyana Kotok, official representative of the State Committee for Social Security for the Brest Region, told BELTA.

The incident occurred in a forest area near the village of Shcherchevo. A local resident discovered the body of a fellow villager born in 1970 there. The emergency medical team confirmed the man's death . The day before, he was seen in the forest - he twice approached a group of acquaintances who were drinking ALCOHOL, asking for alcohol.

During a chemical examination, experts determined that the cause of the man’s death was alcohol poisoning. The concentration of ethyl alcohol in his blood turned out to be toxic and incompatible with life - 6.6 ppm.

As noted by the State Committee for Forensic Expertise, severe alcohol poisoning, which can lead to death, occurs when the concentration of ethyl alcohol is from 3 to 5 ppm. Poisoning is considered fatal at concentrations above 5 ppm. Over 11 months, forensic experts from the Brest region recorded 164 cases of death from ethyl alcohol poisoning (224 for the same period last year). Including 22 cases in Brest, 16 each in Baranovichi and Berezovsky district.
