The dairy industry is one of the leading areas of agricultural development in the Lipetsk region. The consistent work being carried out aimed at ensuring the growth of MILK production has made it possible to increase the investment attractiveness of the industry and increase production.
Over the first 9 months of this year, farms of all categories produced 239.5 thousand tons of milk. This is 3% more than in the same period a year earlier. The main volume traditionally falls on agricultural organizations. 189.2 thousand tons were received there. The growth was 4%. Peasant (farm) farms produced 12.5 thousand tons over the 9 months of 2023, plus 5% compared to last year.
Obtaining a stable increase in milk was facilitated by a constant increase in the productivity of dairy cattle . Over the past five years, milk yield per cow in agricultural organizations has increased by 18.5% and reached 8,523 kg in 2022. For 9 months of this year, milk yield per cow amounted to 6573 kg. This is 5% more than in the same period a year earlier.
More than 60 agricultural enterprises, peasant farms and production cooperatives, five breeding reproducers and three breeding plants are engaged in dairy farming in the region. More than 70% of the livestock is kept in dairy complexes equipped with milking parlors.
Work on technical and technological modernization of dairy farming continues. This year, a complex for raising young cattle with a capacity of 3.5 thousand has already been put into operation in the Zadonsky district, and the reconstruction and modernization of a robotic complex for 1,200 cows in the Lev-Tolstovsky district is being completed. Also in the Dolgorukovsky district, construction is underway on a new dairy livestock complex - a farm for raising highly productive breeding animals and a dairy farm.
“Due to the implementation of investment projects and the provision of state support, high-tech production facilities have been created in the region’s farms, the most advanced technologies and advanced breeding achievements are used. All this contributes to an increase in milk production,” says Alexey Telkov, HEAD of the Lipetsk Region Department of Agriculture.
