
Based on the results of the first seven months of 2025, the Moscow Region confirmed its status as the country's leading cheese producer. 
The region accounts for nearly a quarter of Russia's total cheese production and is a key player in the international market. The 
Moscow Region Ministry of Agriculture and Food reported that cheese production from January to July 2025 amounted to 94,400 tons. The region produced over 35% of all cheese in the Central Federal District and 19% of Russia's total cheese production. This makes the Moscow Region the country's leading cheese producer. This positive trend continues to this day. Cheese and cottage cheese exports increased by 22% in value terms over the same period in 2024 , reaching 19,800 tons. The region also maintains a leading position in RUSSIA in this area. The region's 
primary EXPORT destinations are the CIS countries of Kazakhstan , Uzbekistan , and Belarus . These results are achieved thanks to the work of the region's largest enterprises, including Lactalis Istra LLC, Syrovar LLC, and ROTA-AGRO LLC. 
In 2024, 173,600 tons of cheese, cottage cheese, and fermented MILK product exports from the region totaled 75,400 tons, a 12% increase compared to 2023. Cheese exports showed particularly significant growth, increasing by 21.4% in 2024. The Moscow Region's strong position in both domestic and international markets demonstrates the competitiveness of local producers, which significantly contributes to the development of Russia's agricultural sector.
