The Raevsugar company in the Alsheevsky district of the Republic of Bashkortostan is processing raw SUGAR from Brazil. Today, the enterprise has already processed 12 thousand tons of the product, before the start of the sugar beet season they plan to process at least 18 thousand tons more
. period of high demand in summer. The experience of the spring of this year, when there was a boom in demand for a product that disrupted supply chains and caused sugar shortages in stores across the country, prompted pre-emptive action.
“Back in March, we started the reconstruction of the line, purchased the necessary equipment to be able to process raw cane sugar,” said Ruslan Belinsky, technical DIRECTOR of Raevsugar. – The raw material arrived to us in June, by that time we had installed the line, and immediately started processing. There is a demand for products, and not only from the republic, our raw sugar diverges in various parts of the country.”
The Republic of Bashkortostan produces a sufficient amount of sugar of its own production - from sugar beets grown in the region. Even in the dry year of 2021, when the beet crop failed, two industry enterprises of the republic - Chishminsky Sugar Plant JSC and Rayevsakhar LLC produced more than 142 thousand tons of the product. And in general, the capacities of the plants, after reconstruction in 2021, allow processing 5.5-6 thousand tons of sugar beets daily and producing 250-300 thousand tons of sugar per season.
But there are other regions of the country that need to be provided with the product, which is why, for greater reliability, the farmers of the republic increased the area under sugar beet by 20%, up to 44 thousand hectares, and before the season of traditional demand, additionally purchased raw sugar from Brazil.
