Russians began to receive fake notifications about detachment from the clinic due to a technical failure with a proposal to re-register and pay a fee from the alleged public services portal. This was reported to RIA Novosti by Stanislav Kuznetsov, deputy chairman of the board of Sberbank.

According to him, the letter of the perpetrators emphasizes the need for an early re-attachment to the clinic in the context of the covid-19 pandemic . Fraudsters immediately offer a potential victim to follow a link to a fake public services website, where they should fill out a questionnaire, select a clinic and pay a fee not exceeding several thousand rubles.

Kuznetsov stressed that as a result of the scheme, both money and personal data could end up in the hands of malefactors. He clarified that, having access to the profile on the State Services, scammers can issue a loan or a microloan in the name of the victim.

The deputy chairman recalled that when clicking on suspicious links, one should carefully look at the portal address, and upon receipt of such a notification, contact one's medical institution.
