Petersburg overtook Moscow in the number of new cases of coronavirus infection

In RUSSIA, 18,554 new cases of CORONAVIRUS infection were detected per day, the operational headquarters said. Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 7.1 million people have been infected in the country.

The leader in incidence is St. Petersburg, 1597 cases were registered there (while in the Leningrad region the headquarters registered 183 new infected), and in Moscow - 1592. In the Moscow region, 718 cases of covid-19 were detected per day, in the Sverdlovsk region - 506. More than 400 cases confirmed in the Rostov, Samara, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod regions and the Perm Territory.

For the third time in a month, St. Petersburg is ahead of the capital in terms of the number of cases of infection recorded per day: the last time it happened on September 1 and 8.
