The introduction of mandatory vaccination for people over 60 in Chuvashia is not being considered, since effective measures against the pandemic are already in place in the region, the HEAD of the region, Oleg Nikolaev, told RBC.
“I think that each region takes such measures [mandatory vaccination of pensioners] based on the epidemiological situation, based on the need to protect the HEALTH and well-being of the whole society and certain categories of the population,” he explained.
Chuvashia has a program to protect the health of citizens. “Obviously, when we provide social distancing, wearing masks, admitting people to public places, cultural and social enterprises through QR codes, we generally manage to control the spread of CORONAVIRUS infection and provide effective medical care not only to those who fall ill, but also to those who suffer from chronic diseases and need constant medical care, regardless of the spread of the epidemic,” Nikolaev explained.

The head of the republic clarified that non-working days, together with restrictions on the activities of social enterprises and the consumer sector, contributed to a decrease in the spread of infection: “The main thing is that the stabilization trend that has formed on non-working days is now developing in a positive way. That is, the number of people who are treated in the hospital and on an outpatient basis, the number of newly infected people is gradually gradually decreasing.”
