Critical situation averted. How Chelyushchevichi met the challenge of the elements

Topic news "We have 10 combines - and all of them are in the field today," Sergey Rakitsky, DIRECTOR of Chelyushchevichi OJSC, greets us at the grain drying complex. The director changes several locations and objects a day - control and participation are needed everywhere, because in parallel with the harvesting of gold from the fields and green meadows, buildings damaged by the elements are being repaired. BELTA correspondents learned how Chelyushchevichi OJSC is recovering from the hurricane wind and how they "insured" themselves against such bad weather surprises.
The director of the enterprise shows how the slate roof of the grain "hangar" in the village of Chelyushchevichi is being renewed sheet by sheet. The hurricane wind that passed through the region on July 14 caused more damage in the neighboring Mozyr and Kalinkovichi districts, but it also did a lot of "naughty things" in Petrikovsky. Thus, in Chelyushchevichi alone, the roofs of the grain storage facilities, livestock farms, and workshops with slate roofs were partially torn off.
In total, five facilities now require additional attention. "We are restoring them ourselves. If necessary, we bring in construction crews. We always have about 2,000 sheets of slate in stock, so there are no problems with materials. We bring in aerial platforms from other organizations. First of all, we are paying attention to the grain storage facilities in order to preserve the harvest. And the rest is a matter of little time," emphasizes Sergey Rakitsky.
According to the director, there is no critical situation on the livestock farms either on that spontaneous Sunday or now. The power outages made adjustments to the production process, but everything was resolved in the shortest possible time. "But even at that moment the situation was not critical. Only on one of the farms the milking was delayed by no more than a couple of hours. The local power supply company responded and delivered us a diesel generator, which powered this dairy farm. On the second farm, they brought a generator from the district department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations . On the third farm, we were saved by the fact that we used our own backup diesel generator," emphasizes Sergey Rakitskiy.

Lessons have been learned from the situation and tasks have been solved in advance. "Today, three livestock farms that produce MILK are fully equipped with backup diesel generators. In addition, we purchased two for our own needs. This decision was made unequivocally, because from time to time bad weather has made adjustments to our work before," the director notes. Such a reserve is a kind of guarantee that failures will not occur.
The elements also swept through the fields: they slightly mowed down oats and rye. The weak stems were pressed to the ground. "We lift it - Gomselmash has the units and equipment for this," the director clarifies.
In general, the harvesting campaign is progressing at a confident pace in the farm. They occupy leading positions in the region. "We have already threshed more than 3 thousand tons of grain excluding rapeseed. We are approaching 50%. If the heavenly office is favorable, then within 14-15 days we will complete the harvest," the director predicts.
In "Chelyushchevichi" they have already completely harvested winter rapeseed - 286 hectares. This year they plan to increase the area for this crop by almost a third - up to 400 hectares. "The price is good and the payback is good too. We are following the technology. We will switch to no-till tillage. We are planning to sow hybrid seeds. We have taken into account the experience of our colleagues from Mozyr, where this approach yields over 30 c/ha. Why invent a new bicycle if you can ride well on the existing design. About 260 hectares have already been plowed for winter sowing of rapeseed," explains Sergey Rakitsky.

The enterprise is part of the Belaruskali-Agro holding. Sergey Rakitsky has been managing Chelyushchevichi OJSC for the second year and is aware of all the processes. An inspection of the equipment in the machine yard was carried out immediately. There were no questions about the availability, but we had to work on the condition. The task of restoring the existing units has gradually been resolved. "There is enough equipment, it is important to keep everything in working order. 14 energy-saturated tractors, 10 combines - everything in the field. If there is a need for something special, we buy it," he says.
Several kilometers from the grain drying complex, grass forage is being prepared. "With a plan of 17 thousand tons, we have already prepared 16 thousand. Another thousand tons of haylage - and the plan is fulfilled. We are preparing it with a reserve. We will not leave the grass in the field, we will put it in trenches, in case someone needs it," the director creates a strategic reserve.
Next to the equipment are winged assistants. Storks, rather - to inspire the machine operators. Where would we be without the romance of the fields?
By the way, local personnel and additional forces have been brought in during this hot season. "There is a saying: autumn - eight jobs. The harvesting season started a little earlier, so there are no extra hands. We involve machine operators from other organizations for seasonal work. Guys from Belaruskali operate two combines," says the director.
"Chelyushchevichi" is an organization with almost 60 years of history. The state farm was founded in April 1965. Since then, it has been transformed several times by joining other agricultural enterprises. The main strategic goal is to increase the gross production of agricultural products, ensure profit from their sale and further increase the financial stability of the organization. The total area of agricultural land is over 15 thousand hectares, arable land - almost 10 thousand hectares. A fairly high fertility rate. The number of dairy cattle is 1.3 thousand. Chelyushchevichi understands the importance and responsibility of this period for ensuring food security of the country. Therefore, in 24/7 mode, they carry out the tasks set for the country's farmers by the HEAD of state.

In total, over 7.3 thousand hectares of grain crops have been harvested in Petrikovsky District, and over 10 thousand tons of grain have been threshed. Every day, grain growers add weight to the bins.
