news Spring this year is actively pushing farmers to work in the field. it is especially important not to miss the moment for those farms whose lands, due to their characteristics, quickly lose moisture with the onset of positive temperatures. For example, for oats, which is an early spring crop, moist soil is a guarantee of future productivity. It is for this reason that the Berezinsky region was the first to start sowing grain in the MINSK region. The work is being carried out carefully, monitoring the weather. BELTA correspondents found out what worries farmers in this difficult time, what is their mood for work and who can be called the main participant in the process.
There are the first 50 hectares.
Before going to the field, the Department of Agriculture and Food of the Berezinsky District Executive Committee will find out the general situation in the agronomic sector of the region. According to the plan , over 47 thousand tons of grain should be received here
in
2024 . For this purpose, 14.2 thousand hectares of winter grains and rapeseed were sown. In the grain group, wheat and triticale prevail, and this is 3.9 thousand hectares and 4.2 thousand hectares, respectively, the third strategic crop, the area for which is constantly expanding, is winter barley. Almost 3 thousand hectares are sown with it.
The volume of spring sowing this year is 16.4 thousand hectares, where early spring sowing is only 10%. Since the volume of early sowing is small, they will be able to cope with it, provided the weather is favorable and the entire technical capacity of the region is used, in 3-4 days. Pogostsky OJSC was the first to start sowing, where they sowed 50 hectares of oats, while grass is sown in five farms in the region.
“The weather is holding back the process: night frosts do not allow work to begin in full force,” notes Vasily Piskun, the department’s chief specialist in charge of crop production issues. The plans for spring sowing include 1.2 thousand hectares of corn for grain, almost 9 thousand hectares for green fodder, 8 thousand hectares of annual and perennial grasses. “One of the main goals of the agricultural industry is to feed the existing cattle population in the area,” the specialist sums up.
“After winter, I want to go to the field as soon as possible...” The Zdravushka-agro SUP also relies on dairy cattle breeding, especially since the profile of the parent enterprise is corresponding. There will be feed in the bins, and there will be
MILK on the farms.
“We will sow spring crops on an area of 1.4 thousand hectares, where there are only 200 hectares of grain. An important crop for us is corn, so we are allocating 1 thousand hectares for it, 200 hectares for annual grasses,” said chief agronomist Alexander Shibalko.
Today farmers do not live by sowing alone. The farm applies fertilizers for future spring crops, “feeds” perennial grasses, and removes organic matter.
“If today there are 6 units of equipment in the fields, then in the active sowing phase there will be more than 20 of them working. The staff of machine operators is fully staffed, I am glad that among them there are also young people who can be trusted with energy-rich tractors and complex agricultural machinery,” noted the chief agronomist.
The RU-700 unit operates on the basis of the Fendt tractor, and is driven by hereditary tractor driver Denis Tarsenko. The guy's father is also a mechanic - he transports organic matter on an energy-rich tractor.
“I graduated from the college of architecture and construction, tried my hand at forestry, but I didn’t turn out to be either a builder or a forester - I prefer
agriculture . Nature, fresh air, space - all this pleases and inspires. This comes from my grandfather, who taught me how to drive a tractor. No matter what anyone says, I don’t even consider a city to live in,” Denis shared. If in the spring he is busy applying fertilizers, then in the summer he works on preparing feed.
“All these seasons are hot, and therefore there is money. If you are not lazy, you can earn money. My wife Maria, by the way, also works in agriculture - she is a livestock specialist,” notes the machine operator. He also adds that modern agricultural machines are a synthesis of technology and electronics. For jobs like fertilizing, this is extremely important.
Sergei Bury, although he lives in Berezino, decided on the issue of employment in the village. Now the Rosa machine applies fertilizers to perennial grasses.
“The unit is assigned to me, so in the summer I also do chemical weeding. During the forage harvesting season, I take away the green mass. I have known mechanical work since childhood, so I don’t see anything complicated in it. Well,
spring is a holiday for any machine operator , because you want to get from the mechanical yard go to the field as soon as possible,” shared Sergei.
New equipment - young personnel New equipment arrived at Pervomaisky OJSC for the beginning of the sowing season. With their own funds, they were able to purchase the Rosa agricultural machine, which was as necessary as air on their soils.
“We plan to focus on grasses during the sowing season, although last year we seriously worked on this issue. This spring we sowed them on an area of 300 hectares. About 800 hectares will be allocated for corn. Any day now we will begin to prepare the soil for alfalfa,” said
the DIRECTOR of the agricultural enterprise Yuri Kostyuk.
The lands on the farm are traditionally flooded in the spring, so they were always the last ones in the area to apply fertilizers. For this reason, the plants did not receive the required portion of fertilizers. The new "Rosa" will help correct the situation.
“Agromash helped us by providing an installment plan, although we were able to pay 50% of the cost of the agricultural machine with our own funds. It is very important that the company’s service department not only set up the unit, but also taught our operator the intricacies of working on it. He is young, promising, let he’s trying,” said Yuriy Kostyuk.
For Artem Obmetko, applying fertilizers is not a new topic - before that, he worked on a sprayer, showing a careful attitude towards equipment.
“I’ve been working on tractors for five years, before that I tried to build my own
business . I didn’t turn out to be a businessman, so I need to try to make money from the land. I love technology, my brother works here - that’s how we live,” shared Artem.
Despite the fact that Artem is a local guy, the farm allocated him a house, in which a keeper of the hearth has already appeared. Artyom’s girlfriend works as a livestock breeder, so the guys are here for the long haul.
“I wanted to escape from the workshop to the village...”
At JSC “Bogushevichi” they sow grass for winter crops. Machine operator Alexander Vitkovsky was caught doing this type of work. What he told about himself not only surprised, but also pleased.
“I worked for almost two decades at a gear factory in the city. I know the technology well. But the factory walls and the city as a whole were always oppressive - my heart yearned to go home to the village. Two years ago I came to my parents’ house and did not regret it. Today, with such a clear sky, it’s just the soul sings. It’s not for you to sit in a workshop,” Alexander shared.
Mikhail Makovka is the chief engineer of this farm, who assured that all equipment is ready for sowing. “In total, we have 21 tractors, 6 of which are energy-rich. For the sowing season, we formed a repair team to quickly resolve breakdowns right in the field. The preparation process was not easy, but the machines were brought to the line of readiness on time,” said Mikhail.
I can’t help but ask the chief engineer how he decided to stay in the village. "My wife works in the local accounting department, the agricultural town has a garden, a school, and its own outpatient clinic. The child is growing up in the fresh air. The company allocated a house. Is anything else needed? The only problem is that there are not many people in the village. I think that the locals, especially large families, should be built in the village. Then there will be someone to work in agriculture,” noted Mikhail Makovka.
