In the Voronezh region, 120 thousand pigs were destroyed due to five ASF outbreaks

We remind you that in October, the Melovatsky and Kolos pig-breeding complexes of the AGROECO group of companies, the Bobrovsky MEAT processing plant and the Kalacheevskoye specialized farm of the RUSMIT holding suffered from ASF outbreaks. You will find initial information in our news .

AGROECO farms lost 650 pigs. At the Bobrovsky meat processing plant, the pathogen was found in seven refrigeration chambers and a workshop for the production of protein and vitamin concentrates. 84.4 tons of infected products were destroyed.

All 34 AGROECO sites have been switched to a rotational work method. Daily laboratory monitoring for the presence of the ASF virus is carried out everywhere. More than 8,500 studies have been conducted. Negative results indicate that the lesions are localized. 

In the Kalacheevsky district, the alienation of pigs has been completed. Veterinary services continue to inspect farms and private farmsteads in surveillance zones and send samples for analysis to specialized laboratories.

In the Khokholsky district on October 24, a dead pig was found one and a half kilometers from a house. The carcass was destroyed and the area was disinfected. In the nearest village, all 13 animals turned out to be healthy.

The epizootic situation in the Voronezh region was discussed at a meeting in the regional government on November 7. Last week, the governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, wrote in his TELEGRAM channel that for the region, one of the top three in RUSSIA in terms of total pork and beef production, it is critically important to minimize the risks of spread pathogens of ASF and anthrax. An appropriate action plan has been developed.
