In Primorye, almost 200 thousand birds died due to power outages

The power outage led to an increase in temperature and the shutdown of the chicken watering system. According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, the critical indoor air temperature caused mass bird deaths, including at the Ussuriyskaya poultry farm, where 55.86 thousand birds died. Also, the individual entrepreneur of the State Farming Enterprise Kim E.V. suffered significant losses - about 126 thousand birds.

The Ministry of Agriculture notes that this event contributed to a decrease in egg production volumes from January to September 2024. To date, 230.54 million eggs have been produced, which is 2.9% less than last year. The region has also recorded a decrease in egg production of laying hens. Plans to increase production continue to operate, including a project to expand the capacity of the Ussuri poultry farm.
