Mandatory registration in the information system for labeling participants in the circulation of veterinary drugs is planned to be launched from September 1, 2024 .

The experiment on labeling medicines for animals started in December 2023 and will last until August 31 of this year.

When labeling veterinary drugs, the same code structure is used that is now used by manufacturers of drugs for humans. The code for marking veterinary drugs will consist of 4 groups of data. The first group is the Global Trade Item Identification Number (GTIN). Manufacturers and importers will have to register it in the GS1 system and create a product card in the national catalog “Chestny ZNAK”.
