The first batch of fish products in 2026 was sent from the Irkutsk region to China.

The products comply with all veterinary requirements and quality standards of Russian and Chinese legislation.
According to Marina Kozharina, Acting Minister of Agriculture of the Irkutsk Region, fishery exports
play a significant role in the region's achievement of the goals of the federal project "Export of Agricultural Products," which is part of the national project "International Cooperation and Export." "Fishery exports to China resumed in the Angara region in 2024. They were previously suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Ministry, together with development institutions operating in the region, intend to further develop this area, supporting local producers in entering international markets," noted Marina Kozharina.
Last year, the federal competition committee of the All-Russian "Exporter of the Year" award announced the names of the best Russian exporters for 2025. Among the winners was the food brand specializing in the production of fish products and processing of seafood, IP Sharpinskaya. The entrepreneur took third place in the "Breakthrough of the Year" category among small and medium businesses. The company exports cold-smoked fish of all cuts and frozen fish.
