The director of the Sredneuralsk poultry farm was convicted in a criminal case on environmental pollution

Verkhnyaya Pyshma COURT sentenced Maxim Maksimov, general DIRECTOR of the Sredneuralsk poultry farm.

“Judge Yulia Kolesova found Maksimov guilty under part 2 of article 247 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Violation of the rules for handling environmentally hazardous substances and waste that caused pollution, poisoning or contamination of the environment” and part 2 of art. 315 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Malicious non-execution by a representative of the authorities, civil servants, municipal employees, as well as employees of a state or municipal institution, commercial or other organization of a court verdict, court decision or other judicial act that has entered into legal force, as well as obstruction of their execution." Maksimov was sentenced to a fine of 150,000 rubles,” the Verkhnyaya Pyshma court told EAN. The court clarified that the judge read out the lengthy sentence for about five hours.

Earlier, EAN repeatedly wrote that scandals around the Sredneuralsk poultry farm have been constantly arising for more than a year. The company has laid off more than half of its employees and is on the verge of closing. There is a court decision to close three explosive facilities on the production area, but the poultry farm is in no hurry to comply with it. Poultry farm "Sredneuralskaya" was repeatedly convicted of unsanitary conditions. There is even a video on the Internet, the author of which shows the situation in the vicinity of the enterprise and says that boxes full of dead chicken have been standing here for weeks. Ready minced MEAT lies next door, and the meat is kept next to rags and dirty containers.

In addition, the factory was constantly polluting the surrounding area with chicken manure instead of properly disposing of it. Despite repeated sealing of equipment by bailiffs, Sredneuralskaya discharged wastewater into the Molebsky swamp, which is connected with the Pyshma River, which flows almost throughout the entire territory of the Middle Urals. Once, journalists recorded how cars were removing chicken manure from the territory of a poultry farm and dumping it, in fact, in a specially protected natural area of the Rezhevsky district. Local residents, tired of the stench, complained to the prosecutor's office. The poultry farm was fined. The court issued orders to eliminate violations, but Maksimov ignored them.

“Despite the voluminous case, episodes from which were read out in court for half a day, the sentence is more than mild. The amount of the fine does not seem adequate to the damage caused to the environment of the Sverdlovsk region. 150 thousand rubles for the years of poisoning is a rather low price, ”the EAN source in one of the supervisory departments believes.

Also, the interlocutor of EAN doubted that this amount would be enough to eliminate the damage and said that he doubted that the owners of the “bird” would participate in this.
