
At a meeting with agricultural producers, preliminary results of raw milk production for 2023 were summed up.
In 2023, the region will reach an absolute historical record for productivity per forage cow - 8812 kg. This is 449 kg more compared to 2022.
“Last year, milk production in farms of all categories amounted to 637.5 thousand tons, of which Vologda agricultural enterprises produced a total of about 610 thousand tons of milk. This is 30 thousand tons more than in 2022. The final volume of milk production for 2023 was a record for the region; this is the highest result in the last 32 years,” said Acting Governor of the Vologda Region Georgy Filimonov.
Dairy farming is a priority industry in 18 municipalities of the Vologda region. In 2023, the leaders in gross milk production were Vologda, Gryazovets, Sheksninsky, Totemsky and Cherepovets districts and districts.
Let us remind you that 1.57 billion rubles were allocated to support regional milk producers in 2023. To increase milk production in the region, modernization and construction of new livestock complexes are taking place.
