
Cereals and leguminous crops have been removed from a third of the sown area.
More than half a million tons of new crop grain has already been harvested in the Nizhny Novgorod region since the beginning of the harvesting campaign. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the region Nikolay Denisov.
“The harvesting campaign in the Nizhny Novgorod region is gaining momentum. To date, grain and leguminous crops have been harvested from an area of 186,000 hectares of sown - 640,000. At the same time, 520 thousand tons of grain were threshed. Wheat, barley, rye, oats and peas are being harvested in the fields of the region,” said Nikolai Denisov.
According to operational data as of August 15, 2022, the largest volume of grain was produced in the Nizhny Novgorod region:
in the municipal districts of the southern zone: Pochinkovsky - 51 thousand tons; Gaginsky - 48.4 thousand tons; Sechenovsky - 44.9 thousand tons; Krasnooktyabrsky - 36.5 thousand tons; Shatkovsky - 33.1 thousand tons;
in the central zone: in the Arzamas region - 30.7 thousand tons; Knyagininsky municipal district - 25.7 thousand tons; Vadsky municipal district - 24.0 thousand tons;
in the municipal districts of the northern zone: Gorodetsky - 9.6 thousand tons; Urensky - 4.4 thousand tons; Koverninsky - 4.0 thousand tons.
“In addition to grain and leguminous crops, the region's farmers are harvesting potatoes, vegetables, sugar beet, rapeseed, fiber flax. The procurement of feed for animals continues: 20 centners of feed units of coarse and succulent fodder from the planned 25 centners have been stocked for one conditional head of livestock,” Nikolay Denisov added.
As of August 15, 2022, 630 thousand tons of haylage (100% of the plan), 162 thousand tons of hay (88%); 137 thousand tons - silage (19%); 18 thousand tons - grain fodder (7%).
Earlier, the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, said that, following the results of the harvesting campaign, the region plans to produce at least 1.3 million tons of grain - this volume will be enough to completely cover the region's needs for this product.
Recall that more than 5.4 billion rubles of subsidies were allocated to support agricultural enterprises and the development of rural areas of the Nizhny Novgorod region this year, of which more than 3.7 billion rubles have already been distributed to agricultural producers. The funds were used to carry out spring field work; melioration; reimbursement of part of the costs associated with the acquisition of machinery and equipment; to support producers of milk and vegetables, support personnel and other areas.
