Since the beginning of this year, the region has produced 1.1 tons of protected-ground vegetables,
including over 1,000 tons of cucumbers, over 88 tons of tomatoes, and 13.5 tons of other vegetables. This is more than the same period in 2025.
Currently, the region has 10 greenhouse farms located in the Atkarsky, Balakovsky, Volsky, Saratovsky, and Tatishchevsky municipal districts. The largest producers are JSC Vesna Sovkhoz, REHN LLC, JSC Volga, Aga Plus LLC, and Leto-2002 LLC.
According to preliminary results, 42,000 tons of protected-ground vegetables were harvested in the region's greenhouses in 2025. "It's worth noting that greenhouse vegetable production has been growing in recent years, not only fully meeting the region's residents' needs for this product but also exceeding it by 28%," said Igor Gridnev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture for the Region's Crop Production Development, Land Relations, Technical Policy, Land Reclamation, and Rural Social Development.
Fresh, environmentally friendly, vitamin-rich produce from Saratov producers can be purchased at the greenhouse farms' branded retail outlets.
