Over 300 thousand tons of grain harvested from Tambov fields

Harvest-2022 continues in the Tambov region. According to operational data, the grain harvest exceeds 300 thousand tons. 73 thousand hectares of fields were processed (7% of the total area).
The grain yield was fixed at 41 c/ha, which is significantly higher than last year’s figures (32 c/ha in 2021). According to experts, the high grain yield is due to the use by Tambov farmers of modern production technologies, mineral fertilizers, high quality seeds, as well as the timely renewal of the agricultural machinery fleet. Modern technology makes it possible to simplify the technologies for cultivating agricultural crops and increase their productivity.
Farmers harvest winter wheat, peas, barley. In some areas of the Tambov region, farmers have begun harvesting oats, rapeseed, potatoes, and vegetables.
Frequent and plentiful rains did not allow Tambov growers to start the harvesting campaign more actively. In recent days, dry weather has set in and agricultural producers have brought equipment to the fields. Harvest 2022 will now gather momentum.
