A seed plant located at the Yelets site of the Lipetsk SEZ has begun a new SUGAR beet seed production season.
The producer explains that this process always begins with seed treatment: the seeds are coated with a nutrient coating containing seed treatment agents to protect against diseases and pests, as well as micronutrients and growth stimulants, and then packaged. The final stage of the production season is obtaining a certificate of conformity, followed by seed shipment to producers.
The seed plant's design capacity is approximately 65,000 seed units per month. In parallel with seed processing and packaging, the plant's laboratory continuously tests the raw materials. The seeds are tested for germination, quality, and vigor.
Seeds from the Yelets site of the Lipetsk SEZ are purchased from all corners of RUSSIA where sugar beets are grown. These include the Central Black Earth Region, Penza Oblast, Krasnodar and Stavropol Krais, and the Republics of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan.
"This seed plant is a vital link in the agro-industrial chain not only of our region but also of the country. The products produced here form the basis of the sugar beet harvest in dozens of regions. This allows us to speak of a significant contribution to Russia's food security," notes Lipetsk Oblast Governor Igor Artamonov.
