RUSSIA will cooperate with Belarus for the development of electronic engineering, it is "impossible to master this direction alone." Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov spoke about this in an interview with RBC TV.

“Even in the Soviet Union, Belarusian enterprises, in particular Planar, were actively engaged in electronic engineering. Now these ties are being restored, we are forming the necessary measures. Of course, it is impossible to develop this area alone, we will look for partners around the world,” Borisov said.

Planar is a holding engaged in precision engineering, for example, creates laser-optical equipment. In addition to him, Borisov also mentioned the Belarusian "Integral", which is engaged in the development and production of microcircuits, semiconductor devices and other electronic equipment, as well as a network of design centers whose efforts could be combined with the efforts of Russian and "quickly overcome the gap that we have today ".

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that in recent decades Russia has practically not been engaged in the development of electronic engineering, electronics production facilities were not produced in the country, but imported into it. “Since the 1990s, we have practically lost competence in this area. And today we will restore them,” he said. At the same time, Borisov recalled that world electronics is also dependent on Russia, since the country exports gases necessary for the electronics industry, in particular neon, which is used to build all laser installations. In early June, Izvestia wrote with reference to a government decree that by the end of the year Russia had limited the EXPORT of inert gases, including neon, argon, helium, etc. According to the publication, Russia supplies up to 30% of neon from global consumption,

Since the beginning of this year, the government, together with experts and market participants, has been developing a national program for the development of electronics. As Yury Borisov explained in mid-February, existing sanctions prohibit Russia from importing the best equipment to launch modern and competitive microchip production, and there is still an embargo on the supply of equipment for the production of chips using 65 and 90 nanometer technologies.

After the start of a special military operation in Ukraine , the US , the EU and other countries imposed new sanctions, due to which Russian customers cannot purchase electronics that use American technology, and even produce their own products at the world's largest factory - Taiwanese TSMC. Previously, it produced Russian processors Elbrus, Baikal, etc.

As Kommersant wrote in mid-May, the implementation of the national program for the development of the electronics industry until 2030 will require 2.74 trillion rubles, of which 940.7 billion rubles. already provided for in the budget, 901.6 billion rubles. will need to be found, and another 904 billion rubles. it is planned to attract from extrabudgetary sources. The program will include four federal projects: Development of Electronics Production Technologies, Personnel Training, Development of Civil Electronics Production Infrastructure and Applied Research, Development and Implementation. The document is being approved by the Prime Minister.
