Roskomnadzor demanded that the management of GOOGLE LLC (owns YouTube) remove all restrictions from the YouTube channel RT ( RUSSIA Today) as soon as possible and explain the reasons for their introduction. This was reported on the website of the federal department.

According to the report, the video hosting had previously blocked a number of materials on the RT YouTube channel, including an interview with Russian virologist Dmitry Lvov. The ability to publish videos and conduct live broadcasts was also limited due to the spread of supposedly inaccurate information about covid-19 .

“Such actions by the YouTube video hosting administration violate the key principles of the free distribution of information, unhindered access to it, and are an act of censorship against Russian media,” Roskomnadzor said in a statement.
