Estonia, Latvia, Czech Republic decided to suspend issuance of visas to Russian citizens

EU countries should cancel the issuance of visas for Russian citizens, said Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki after the end of the EU summit in Brussels.

“We must suspend visas for all Russian citizens who wish to enter the European Union,” said Morawiecki (quoted by Bankier.pl).

On February 24, when RUSSIA launched a military operation in Ukraine, Latvia and the Czech Republic announced they would stop issuing visas to Russians. In addition, the Czech Republic decided to close the Russian Consulate General in Karlovy Vary and Brno and its diplomatic missions in Russia and withdraw its ambassadors from there.

At the same time, Latvia withdrew the ambassador from Russia for consultations and suspended the issuance of all visas except humanitarian ones.
