Astravets district, based on the results of work for 2022, is listed on the Republican Board of Honor. Dozens of enterprises of the region are going at a good labor pace. Their teams, working side by side with the flagship of the domestic energy sector - the Belarusian NPP, have no choice but to gain momentum in production activities. Nothing else is given. In particular, one of the successful farms of the region, KSUP "Gervyaty", whose fields are closely adjacent to the lands of the nuclear power plant, also works at this pace.

Seeding strategy

We visited the enterprise on April 19, when the spring sowing, relatively speaking, crossed the equator.

- Everything goes according to plan. Only the weather makes its own adjustments, how could it be without it, - Igor Zhdanov, DIRECTOR of the Gervyaty KSUP, said at the meeting, assessing the features of the 2023 sowing season. – There is enough equipment, as well as seeds. In order to increase the yield, varieties of a number of crops, including perennial grasses, were routinely updated. We are finishing early cereals. After all, grain is not only bread, but also MILK and MEAT . The bulk of the grown grain, with the exception of sales under the state order, is used for fodder. Under corn - 1.7-1.8 thousand hectares, of which 370 hectares - for grain. Increased crops under winter rapeseed - up to 1 thousand hectares.

We process rapeseed grain into oil and cake in our own workshop for squeezing it. The oil is for sale, and the cake, a valuable protein, is for livestock feed. Double benefit.

There was SUGAR beet , for which almost 500 hectares were taken on the farm. To increase the yield of fields, we accumulate mineral fertilizers.

The farm also grows potatoes . Basically - for the population, at the request of farm workers, pensioners.

- We plant, process, dig and bring to everyone in the yard. The price is minimal - says Igor Vladimirovich.

Farmers are working to make this year more fruitful and profitable.

Bet on animal husbandry

Animal husbandry is the locomotive branch of KSUP "Gervyaty". As of April 1, 2023, the herd of cattle amounted to 10.929 thousand heads, including 2.72 thousand dairy cows. Gross milk yield for the 1st quarter of 2023 amounted to 4.857 tons, extra grade - 90.9%. The average milk yield per cow is 1.785 thousand kg. In order to increase milk production, the farm is building a new MTC near the village of Sokoliti.

Another important area of activity of KSUP "Gervyaty" is the cultivation of cattle for the production of beef. The main stake in this business is on a fattening complex for 4.6 thousand heads of cattle. The farm buys bulls for fattening both in Grodno and in MINSK and Vitebsk regions. For the 1st quarter of 1923, the average daily weight gain of fattening cattle (for the complex) amounted to 948 grams.

Feeding rations suitable for each group and age have been developed for fattening cattle, dairy cows and calves. Produces compound feed own shop.

Competently working, the enterprise provided a stable economic basis for economic activity. So, at the end of 2022, the proceeds from the sale of products (excluding VAT) amounted to 35.473 million rubles, net profit - 5.563 million rubles. Revenue per employee - 94.8 thousand rubles, the average monthly salary in 2022 - 1202.9 rubles.

Taking into account the scale and diversity of the tasks facing the team, a wonderful professional team of just over 370 people has been selected in KSUP "Gervyaty". The company talks about its activities and successes in social networks, on the website, and now in the 7 Days newspaper and on the BelTA website.

Stew is pure meat!

More than 80% of the beef is delivered to the meat processing plant . In addition, KSUP "Gervyaty" has its own cannery. The production of five types of products has been established here. These are "Beef stew. Top grade", "Beef stew. First grade", "Chopped stewed beef", "Horse meat stew" and "Porridge stew with beef".

We visited the workshop and testify: only meat, SALT , pepper and bay leaf are placed in jars. And if it is porridge, then, accordingly, also cereals. And no chemistry.

Livestock breeders also sell semi-finished meat products in their two stores. That is, farm workers buy fresh meat without waiting for the goods to be brought by another supplier.

Calves - mother

The team of KSUP "Gervyaty" has something to be proud of, including production leaders. We met one of them, Vera Kotyash, an operator of livestock complexes and mechanized farms, or, more simply, a calf-keeper, on a farm. The reason was wonderful. By the Decree of the President, Vera Kotyash was awarded the medal "For Labor Merit".

A simple, modest, beautiful Ukrainian woman arrived in Belarus almost 40 years ago. Then she was 20.

- My husband Nikolai and I, with whom we are from the same village in the Rivne region, arrived before Chernobyl. I liked the place and the economy, - says Vera Petrovna, whose son and daughter, Victor and Victoria, were born here.

Now Nikolai and Vera Kotyash have four grandchildren. The son and son-in-law work at a nuclear power plant, the daughter is on maternity leave. Behind Vera Petrovna, her sister and brother moved to Belarus, to Gervyaty.

Today Vera Kotyash has become a real mother for calves. Each of them strives to lick her hand, and the food that the woman puts on them disperses! So the kids grow up in her group by leaps and bounds.

The Mill at Notre Dame

Motivates the staff of the enterprise to keep the brand and such a fact. The central estate of the economy is next to the Belarusian Notre Dame - the Church of the Holy Trinity. This is the highest and one of the most beautiful Catholic churches in the country. To look at it in Gervyaty, Belarusian Switzerland, tourists come in a stream.

Their next bus, after getting acquainted with the beauties of the church, rolls up to the cafe "Mill". It belongs to KSUP "Gervyaty". Thus, by treating dear guests and local residents with dishes of Belarusian cuisine, the agricultural enterprise expands the horizons of production activities. It would be a sin to miss the opportunity and not build such a "Mill" in the way of travelers who are always ready to have a bite to eat.
