April 27, MINSK . Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Andrey Travnikov spoke about the priority areas of cooperation with Belarus during a meeting with Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, BelTA has learned.

The Novosibirsk region of RUSSIA and the Republic of Belarus , despite the distance of half a continent, are connected by truly good neighborly relations, Andrey Travnikov stressed. "Belarus is one of the main foreign trade partners of our region. This year, the cooperation agreement between the Republic of Belarus and the Novosibirsk Region turns 25 years old. The indicators of our cooperation are constantly growing. In June this year, at the X Forum of Regions in Ufa, we plan to sign a new version of the agreement," he said.

Novosibirsk enterprises supply turbogenerators, resistors, spare parts, image intensifier tubes, graphite electrodes and other goods for the Belarusian market. "There are a number of specific interesting examples of developing cooperation and mastering new products. So, Sibelektroprivod LLC is actively cooperating with BELAZ and is implementing a project to create a traction electric drive for mining dump trucks. This electric drive includes Novosibirsk developments," the governor explained.

According to him, it is very important for the region that a subsidiary of the Minsk Tractor Works, Trade House MTZ-Siberia, operates there. “Today, every second tractor in the fields of the region is of Belarusian production. By agreement with our Belarusian partners, several years ago we adjusted state support for the agro-industrial complex and now we are stimulating the purchase of Belarusian-made equipment with regional funds,” Andrey Travnikov stated.

Belarus and the Novosibirsk region have joint projects on agricultural machinery, he said. "There may be a joint project for the production of self-propelled equipment - a sprayer. This is very much in demand in our fields, especially given the tasks of improving the efficiency of agricultural production. The topic of production of equipment for livestock breeding complexes and MILK processing complexes is also relevant for our region. This is a direct import substitution and in including a reaction to unfriendly actions on the part of individual countries," the governor said.

The topic of public transport is also relevant for the Novosibirsk region. “We have a large program to upgrade public transport, which started 2 years ago. Over the past 2.5 years alone, Novosibirsk has received more than 200 buses, trams, trolleybuses. Yes, on the one hand, the market is very competitive, but already in these deliveries there are Belarusian buses, trolleybuses co-produced with Belarusians.In the topic of trams, there is an absolute advantage - this is a joint venture "BKM-Siberia".We agreed that this year our colleagues will start production of a model with an updated modern body, which will give impetus to the development of the market only in Novosibirsk, but also in other regions," he concluded.
