The delegation of the Gomel region, headed by the chairman of the regional executive committee Ivan Krupko, left for the People's Republic of CHINA on August 29 - business events will be held in the city of Chengdu, Sichuan province. As Ivan Krupko emphasized, products produced in the Gomel region continue to conquer the Chinese market. Thus, in May, the Kalinkovichi MEAT Processing Plant shipped a trial batch of canned food worth $202.6 thousand. Since April of this year, the Kalinkovichi Dairy Plant has resumed deliveries of dry skimmed and whole MILK in packaged form of 0.5 kg. "The capabilities of the enterprise allow monthly shipment of packaged milk powder up to 160 tons," the governor said.

In addition, an application for certification of canned meat and chilled beef for supplies to the Chinese market was submitted by the Zhlobin meat processing plant, MILKAVITA is working on resuming the supply of sterilized milk, the HEAD of the region added.

"Since the beginning of the year, the growth rate of foreign trade turnover between the Gomel region and the People's Republic of China has amounted to 146%, or almost $188 million," the chairman of the regional executive committee said.

As noted, this is the first trip of the delegation of the region to the Celestial Empire after the pandemic.

"Cooperation between the two regions began in 2015 with the signing of an interregional agreement in the presence of President of Belarus ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO and President of China Xi Jinping," the regional executive committee recalled. And in 2021, an agreement was signed on the twinning of the Gomel region and Sichuan province.
