MINSK . The value of exchange transactions between Belarusian enterprises and businesses in other Eurasian Economic Union member states in January-May 2025 exceeded $408 million, 10% higher than last year's figure for the same period. This data was shared by Alexander Bashliy,
HEAD of the Foreign Economic Activity Department at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, as reported to BelTA by the BUCE press service.
Belarusian exports accounted for 85% of total exchange trade turnover. As a result, Belarus's positive balance of exchange trade with
EAEU countries reached $287 million.
"Currently, nearly 5,000 companies from four EAEU countries—Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia—are accredited on the exchange. This represents an increase of 369 new trading participants compared to the beginning of the year.
RUSSIA is particularly well represented , with over 4,500 participants. Consequently, this country accounts for the lion's share of exchange transactions with the union's member states. Overall, exchange trade volumes within the EAEU are showing positive dynamics. For example, trade turnover with Russia increased by 9.7% compared to January–May
2024 , with Armenia by 1.6 times, and with Kyrgyzstan by 7 times. Only with Kazakhstan did the transaction value remain at last year's level. However, we have already intensified our efforts in this area and, by the end of the year, we expect to achieve higher figures than in 2024," emphasized the head of the BUCE Foreign Economic Activity Department.
The exchange representative also spoke about the most popular Belarusian goods supplied to the markets of the EAEU countries. According to him, the top five by exchange transaction volume include powdered
MILK ,
butter ,
MEAT products, lumber, and feed additives. Regarding imports, this segment is dominated by purchases of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, ferroalloys, coal and coke, as well as equipment, special equipment, tools, spare parts, and other products for the industrial sector.
